It's a lifestyle
In the kitchen and beyond
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved all things food. From eating out and trying new foods to creating new recipes from old favorites, food is my passion. Living in the Pacific Northwest has afforded me with the luxury of having fresh, local ingredients at my fingertips which I use to create delicious nightshade-free meals. However, not all ingredients can be bought unprocessed so I have learned how to find and use the best naturally NSF foods and products in my cooking. Being nightshade free is more than just avoiding potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants, it’s a lifestyle and I’m here to share how I make it work for me.
In 2015 I was at my wits end as I was unable to find relief from the pain and inflammation that comes with rheumatoid arthritis so I set out to find answers with a new naturopathic doctor. It was only then that I discovered a family of plants called nightshades as I was advised to avoid them, and all inflammatory foods, for thirty days. At the end of that first month I felt less pain than I had in years, even after countless medications. However, being the food lover that I am, I was determined to get to the root of my problem and get back in the kitchen while avoiding foods that aggravate my pain. In doing so I’ve rediscovered the joy of cooking and sharing food with loved ones in a NSF kitchen where flavor is never compromised.
